LinkGate Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Last updated: 2026-01-26

Content

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules you must follow when using LinkGate (the “Service”) to create, manage, and share short links. This AUP forms part of the Terms of Service.

Note: If you do not agree to this AUP, please stop using the Service.

1. Scope

This AUP applies to:

  • The LinkGate dashboard and website (linkgate.cc)
  • The LinkGate short-link redirect service (including short links on custom domains)
  • Short-link related features such as QR codes, UTM parameters, and bulk import (if available)

2. General principles

You must use the Service lawfully and in good faith. You must not use the Service for illegal activities, fraud, infringement, traffic abuse, or actions that endanger others.

3. Prohibited content and activities

The following content or activities (including but not limited to) are strictly prohibited:

3.1 Illegal or harmful content

  • Content or activities that violate applicable laws and regulations;
  • Encouraging, assisting, or organizing illegal acts;
  • Any content that we reasonably determine to be illegal or prohibited by regulators.

3.2 Fraud, phishing, and impersonation

  • Phishing sites, fake login pages, brand/organization impersonation, or attempts to trick users into entering credentials, payment information, or identity information;
  • Scams, pyramid schemes, false advertising, deceptive redirects, or misleading landing pages;
  • Impersonating others or using look-alike domains/pages to mislead users.

3.3 Malware, attacks, and security risks

  • Distributing or linking to malware such as viruses, trojans, ransomware, or spyware;
  • Exploiting vulnerabilities, planting backdoors, or command-and-control (C2) activity;
  • Scanning, probing, or attacking third-party systems;
  • Using the Service as a “jump point” for abusive chains or to evade risk controls.

3.4 Traffic abuse and service interference

  • DDoS, credential stuffing, forging requests in bulk, bypassing limits, or generating fake clicks/fake traffic;
  • Creating an excessive number of short links or sending excessive requests via automation that degrades service stability;
  • Interfering with other users’ normal use or imposing unreasonable load on the platform.

3.5 Intellectual property and other rights infringement

  • Infringing copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights;
  • Infringing privacy rights, reputation rights, or other lawful rights;
  • Distributing others’ content without authorization or directing users to infringing resources.

3.6 Privacy violations and data abuse

  • Illegally collecting, selling, or sharing personal information;
  • Using short links to distribute opaque data collection scripts, deceptive permissions, or tracking;
  • Collecting end-user data without necessary notice and consent (where required by law).

3.7 Evasion and circumvention

  • Attempting to bypass, interfere with, or undermine LinkGate security, risk controls, limits, or allow/deny mechanisms;
  • Creating accounts or links repeatedly after enforcement actions to evade restrictions;
  • Using others’ accounts or accessing the Service in an unauthorized manner.

4. Enforcement actions

If we reasonably determine that a short link, target domain, account, or traffic involves violations, abuse, or security risks, we may take actions including (but not limited to):

  • Disabling a single short link or disabling short links in bulk;
  • Suspending redirects or restricting features (for example, limiting creation, export, or analytics);
  • Blocking specific target domains or keywords;
  • Freezing or terminating accounts;
  • Requesting additional information or requiring remediation.

We may act without prior notice in urgent risk situations (for example, phishing/scams/attacks). Where feasible, we will provide reasonable notice.

5. Appeals and corrections

If you believe our enforcement action is incorrect, you may appeal by contacting support@linkgate.cc and, where possible, provide:

  1. The affected short link/short code and the destination URL;
  2. Proof of ownership or authorization to use the destination domain (if applicable);
  3. Screenshots of the landing page and a description of the intended use;
  4. Any details that may explain a false positive (for example, legitimate campaigns causing high concurrency).

We will review within a reasonable time and, where appropriate, restore service or adjust the action.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • The short links you create and the content they point to;
  • Ensuring you have the rights to distribute the destination link and its content;
  • Providing required notices and compliance to end users (for example, cookie/privacy notices);
  • Cooperating with reasonable verification requests when needed (for example, domain proof or business description).

7. Relationship to the Terms of Service

This AUP and the Terms of Service apply together to your use of the Service. If there is a conflict between this AUP and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via in-app notice or email.
